Appointments  |   Referrals  |   Patient Responsibility  |   Fees, Payments and Insurance Appointments   Patients are seen by appointment and you are asked to call the office in advance to schedule routine and follow-up care. If you have a true medical emergency, please call the office as early as possible. If we are "working you in", please understand that you may have to wait. We understand that emergencies arise and appointments are missed; however, we request a 24-hour notice of cancellation in order to avoid a cancellation charge. Every effort is made to stay on schedule; however, it is the nature of Dermatology that what may appear to be a simple appointment may require immediate biopsies or lab work, therefore extending the appointment time. Unless previously arranged, please do not ask that family members be seen at the time of your appointment. This makes it difficult to stay on schedule and is unfair to those patients whose appointment follows yours. [Top]   Referrals   If your insurance plan requires you to have a referral from your primary care physician, please understand that it is your responsibility to secure it. Our staff will assist you as needed, but we will be unable to see you under your insurance co-payment if we do not have the required referral. [Top]   Patient Responsibility   Your diagnosis and treatment plan will be explained as clearly as possible. Please ask questions. If you do not understand a diagnosis, procedure or medication instruction, please ask for clarification. [Top]   Fees, Payments and Insurance   Our goal is to provide the best medical care for you in the most cost-effective manner possible. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. Co-payments will be collected when you check-in. If you have a procedural or lab deductible that must be met, it will be collected as you leave. For your convience, we accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. You may request a copy of the fee sheet for your records. We file primary insurance only. You are important to us and your health is our main concern. We welcome your observations about the care you receive in our office. [Top]
